Ingredients
- 14.5 oz. flour
- 1 t baking soda
- 1 t salt
- 4 oz unsalted butter at room temp
- 4 oz crisco
- 6.5 oz. light brown sugar
- 6.5 oz. white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 t vanilla
- 10 oz chocolate chips
Instructions
- Position rack to second highest setting and preheat over to 375.
- In small bowl, mix flour, salt and baking soda until evenly distributed and set aside (whisk).
- Using wire whisk attachment, cream butter and shortening on high until light and fluffy (1-3 minutes).
- Add both sugars and beat on high 1-2 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat until fully incorporated.
- Switch to paddle and mix chocolate chips.
- Add flour and mix until just incorporated.
- Touch test dough. Should be slightly sticky.
- Form 1.5" ball and place on ungreased sheets, 3" apart.
- Cover and refrigerate until firm (30 minutes).
- Bake 8-10 minutes. Done when domed and puffy.
- Leave on sheet for 2 minutes.
